Wedding Sickness

A turn as a flower girl has left Megan reeling. She walked the aisle for our cousin Sarina at her wedding to Zac in Omaha last week. She had a hair appointment and her first updo and she was pleased as triple berry hawaiian punch. She was dazzling in sparkly heels and a pink dress with a giant bow in the back.

On the way to Omaha, we listened to "Where the Red Fern Grows." It was a pretty intense story...I remembered from my own childhood the sad ending. The kids were riveted. Michael and I marveled at how this kid spent entire nights out in the woods alone with two dogs, hunting wild animals. The story begins with the boy, Billy, pining for a pair of hunting dogs, describing the feeling as "dog sickness." Megan was listening intently and broke in with, "Oh, mom. I think I might have WEDDING SICKNESS."
