Wild Ride

2 days in the Wisconsin Dells was a fun treat for us a few days before school begins...we went with two other families that we are friends with through school, the Roes and the Storellis. We had a great time. The kids (8 total) were such great companions for one another...there was always someone wanting to do the same thing, ride the same ride. No major meltdowns or arguments made for a really good first travel-with-other-families experience. Michael rode The Hurricane (which scared ME) and yelled on the way down, "I DON'T LIIIIIKE THIIIIS!!!"

Meg was less adventurous on the slide front, but I have realized that probably that is for the best...that she is simply relying on her own water comfort. She can swim, no problem, but when the current is churning the water all around, she may just know better for now. Like one of the other little girls there told me, "I really like water slides, but my tummy doesn't always agree with me."

Here are my kids sucked into their DSs within minutes of waking up in the morning; Michael with the friend he brought (the other 6 kids were girls, so I offered some mercy); and all of the kids on the trip EXCEPT mine in front of the funny car that brought us dinner.
